Fic- Moment We Share Together - Chapter 9

Chapter 9
**********

Later the following evening, she was at her flat when the doorbell ring, and knowing quite well who it was, she called : "Who is it?" "Shane" his voice come strongly through the door. "Open up". "Go away !" I don't want to see you ",
Alice…. "Either you open up this door, or I cause a performance here on your doorstep which should interest your neighbours. She hardly knew her neighours and she signed as she lifted the latch and opened the door wide. "Come in, then," "That's better, " he remarked calmly, kicking the door shut and facing her in the small entrance hall. "Honey, you're as pale as a ghost. "His arms closed about her with an unexpected force that gave her no time to resist or to escape the lips that captured her. He released her just as suddenly as he taking her. "I wish you'd leave me alone!" "I can't do that, Alice. "Get your coat, we're going out." "Out ?" "Yes" he said abruptly, ushering her towards her room. I'm taking you to my home. I need suggestions on how to furnish it. "I'm not interested in helping you furnish your home, "she told him, drawing back.
The car slowed down and she snapped out of her reverie to see the two stone pillars, they drive towards the double-storeyed house. "After you, my dear," said Shane as he unlocked the front door and stood aside. She found herself in a large living-room, but the furniture he had kept form his old home seemed lost in the vastness of the room. "You've kept most of your furniture, I notice.
"Yes, but this is a much large house. He opened the doors of the large cabinet beside the stone fireplace and took out a bottle and tow glasses. I think you'd better have a little sherry first to calm you down before I take you on a guided tour of the house." "I don't want any sherry." "Must you always argue? "I didn't want to come here with you, she reminded him. "But you're here now, so behave like the lady you are and accept my hospitality. "The tour of Shane's home did not take very long. I have a catalogue here from which you could make your selection. Shane said as they returned to the living room. He dropped the thick catalogue into her lap once they had resumed their seats. "Shane, I don't--" Please, honey. "His glance was intense and she found her resolve crumbing. "You may not---not like my choice." "I know you'll choose well," he said. It took longer to select the required items that it took to walk through the entire house, but she was eventually satisfied with her choice as she returned the catalogue to him. "Thank you, Alice", he smiled, turning towards the cabinet. "This calls for another sherry." "Not for me, thank you," she said quickly. "Most definitely for you." He ordered. I can't drink along. "It's late," she tried again. It's barely past nine, he smiled lazily. I must go home how, "she said at last. Shane gestured towards the empty space beside him on the sofa. "Come and sit here." "No!" she recoiled from the suggestion as if a snake had bitten her. "Afraid?" he mocked, stretching his legs out before him. "I'm not afraid, but---" "Then come and sit here beside me. You're not nervous of being along here with me, are you?" "No, of course not!" she argued, finally joining him. "Relax, he murmured, sliding an arm along the back of the sofa and caressing the side of her neck with his fingertips. "I shan't bite you." The he slipped his fingers beneath her collar and across her shoulder. "Don't…. please, she choked out the words as her nerves quivered responsively to his touch. He leaned toward her then, forcing her into the curved end of the sofa. His breath was warm against her mouth as he murmured. "Stop fighting, my Alice." "I'm not your Alice." "Oh, but you are," he insisted before the warm of his mouth on hers sent her senses reeling helplessly. She struggled against him, twisting her mouth away from his. "Let me go ! I hate you !" "I know, he said, his eyes darkened with passion. "You hate me just as I hate you. Her hands encountered the hardness of his shoulders as she tried to push him away. "Shane, stop it ! "I want you, Alice, " he whispered against her throat. "Just as much as you want me at this moment, and don't deny it." She knew she had to escape his lips in emotions she would not be able to control, but she felt a sharp tug at her hair, forcing her to keep her head still. His kiss was a white hot passion and stripping her of the desire to resist the uncontrollable force of her emotions. His finger found the zip of the front of her dress and tugged, then his hand was against her waist, moving across to her back and up along her spine. She trembled violently, wanting his touch, yet knowing that she dare not allow it, as he slipped her arms about Shane's neck and pressed closer to him. Sweetheart. "he muttered against her lips. "Stay with me. Stay with me tonight. "No! I can't ! she cried, her mind rejecting his suggestion. "You can." she insisted, his body hard against her own. "You're my wife. "No ! scraping together every ounce of strength, she had left. She twisted away from him and jumped to her feet pulling up the zip of her dress at the same time. Shane rose more slowly, coming up behind her, but as he reached out for her she moved away , her breath coming fast. "Don't touch me." "Stop panicking," he said, not touching her. "If you stay, then you stay of your own free will. I shan't force you." "Take me home please. "This is your rightful home," he insisted. Grabbing her coat, she made a dash for the door but Shane was there before her. "Where do you think you're going ? "If you won't take me home, then I'll have to walk." "I'll take you home."
